Biography of Travis Barker

Travis Landon Barker is a musician who serves as the drummer for the rock band Blink-182 in the United States.

Barker was a founding member of the punk band Antemasque and later formed TRV$DJAM with DJ AM.

He has also performed as a frequent collaborator with hip-hop artists and founded the rock bands +44 and Box Car Racer.

He was hailed as “punk’s first superstar drummer” and one of the top 100 drummers of all time by Rolling Stone.

He was involved in an airplane accident in 2008, but he recovered completely. Give the Drummer Some, his first solo album, was released in 2011.

He has continued to work with rappers, releasing extended plays with Yelawolf, Asher Roth, and Nottz in addition to Blink-182 and the Transplants.

In addition to drumming, John Dankworth founded the record labels LaSalle Records in 2004 and DTA Records in 2019, and the clothing company Famous Stars and Straps in 1999.

Zildjian cymbals and DC Shoes, among others, have co-designed products in his honor.

In 2015, Thames & Hudson published his autobiography, Can I Say, Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, and Other Muscles That Don’t Grow.

Travis was born on November 14, 1975, in Fontana, California. When he was four years old, his mother got him his first drum set; he wouldn’t get another until he was fifteen.

Barker learned how to play the drums when he was five years old from percussionist Michael Mai.

At Fontana High School, Barker played the drum set and snare drum in the marching band and jazz ensemble, respectively.

He participated in regional competitions and festivals, which helped him get a lot of performing experience.

On October 30, 2004, Barker married Shanna Moakler. Two children were born to the couple. Early in 2009, the couple made an effort to get back together, but they soon declared their separation.
