Team Legend

Omar Cardona sang “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” by Journey. Omar is a full-time performer of 15 years from Florida. Gwen told Omar she would “die” to work with him, and John complimented his range and unique voice. Omar was John’s first teammate of the season.

Emma Brooke sang “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas & The Papas to represent her own dream of auditioning for The Voice. In a flash, John turned his face into a picture of respect for her control over her breathing and her range. Gwen told Emma that she wanted to help her “mold” her dream.

The background vocalist dreams of “taking center stage”. He gave a sensuous, slow cover of Harry Styles’ “Falling.” David has sung for famous names like Ed Sheeran and was even a stand-in for John once.

Team Gwen

Blake, John, and Gwen turned their chairs for a bartender and musician from Ohio. Ian Harrison chose “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron for his audition because it reminded him of his late father. While Gwen complimented Ian for “showing his emotions,” Blake said that his voice had “character.”

Jay Allen dedicated his audition to his mother, who died in 2019 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He sang the Cody Johnson song “Til You Can’t” while showing a country twang in his voice. Jay joined Gwen’s squad, much to her surprise.

Team Camila

Morgan Myles covers Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” earning chair turns from all four coaches. John: It takes “cojones” to cover such a famous song. Camila Cabello already used her block on Gwen Stefani, and it’s only the beginning of the season.

Camila told Morgan Witherspoon that she wanted to help her forge her own path as an artist. Meanwhile, Blake noted that he related to her journey as a Nashville artist.

Orlando Mendez sang “Beer Never Broke My Heart” by Luke Combs. He comes from a family of Cuban-Americans, yet he loves country music. Camila and Gwen turned their chairs first, followed by Blake; John turned at the last second.

John wanted to be chosen by Orlando as the most surprising option, but he ended up on Team Camila. Gwen claimed that she’s country by marriage to Blake and said she could help him navigate the competition.

Team Blake

Blake Blake lost two country artists to other coaches in the season premiere of The Voice. His reign may be coming to an end after this season’s opening episode.

The season is scheduled to last 13 weeks, broadcasting on Mondays and Tuesdays, and including episodes that are staged differently.

New episodes of The Voice air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Peacock also offers to stream the next day.
