The official trailer of “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” which stars Evan Peters from “American Horror Story,” has been recently released on Netflix.
The series widely covers the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to continue on a multiyear killing rampage and is mostly presented from the viewpoint of Dahmer’s victims. At least 10 instances in which Dahmer came dangerously close to being caught but was eventually released are dramatized in the series.
According to the title, Jeffrey Dahmer brutally murdered seventeen innocent citizens between 1978 and 1991.
The documentary series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story exposes these horrific crimes, focusing on the impoverished victims and the communities they live in, as well as the institutional racism and police failures that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to carry out his murderous rampage for more than ten years.
Murphy and Ian Brennan, the show’s creators, are also the executive producers of “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
The series is directed by Paris Barclay, Carl Franklin, and Janet Mock. Murphy and Brennan co-wrote the first four episodes of the brief series, with help from Mock, David McMillan, Reilly Smith, and Todd Kubrak.
Longtime partners Murphy and Brennan most recently collaborated on the Ben Platt, Zoey Deutch, and Lucy Boynton-starring Netflix original series “The Politician.”
The television series “Hollywood,” “Scream Queens,” and “Glee” were all created by Murphy and Brennan, who also acted as the showrunners.
Peters, who appeared in nine seasons of “American Horror Story,” partners up with “AHS” creator Murphy for the limited series. In 8 episodes of Murphy’s “Pose,” Peters played Stan Bowes.
The documentary “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” will air on Netflix on September 21.
