Derulo was born on 21 September 1989 to Haitian parents as the youngest of their three children in Miramar, Florida, USA. He started his schooling at a very young age. He attended and performed arts schools in Florida that made him attempt music composition early. He wrote his 1^st song at the age of 8. He went to New York to study musical Theater and embarked on a musical career when he is teens.

He started writing songs at the age of eight and soon he entered into teens he got huge attention from the youth in New York. Soon in New Zealand to he got international fame due to his debut single ‘Whatcha Say’ which made him No. 1 in the U.S in a very short time. He titled his self debut studio album as “Jason Derulo” make him stand at No. 5 on US Billboard Hot 100 and featured the super hit singles ‘In My Head’, and ‘Ridin Solo’.

That album was certified Platinum in Australia and Sweden and gold in several other countries. In 2010 Jason won two teen Choice Awards. Choice R&B track for single “In My Head” and Choice R&B Album for “Jason Derulo”.

Jason began dating Jordin Sparks in 2012 who is also a singer. Jason and Jordin loved each other very much they even opened up about their relationship. She acted in the video song of Jason named “Marry Me”. In that song, he proposed her after speculations about the next step in their relationship the couple broke up their relationship and split in 2014.
