Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE is an English singer and pianist. Since the 1970s, John has had a commercially successful career as a solo performer. Known by the nickname “Rocket Man” because of his popular song of the same name from 1972.

Early Life
Reginald Kenneth Dwight, the future Elton John, was born in Pinner, Middlesex, on March 25, 1947. When he was 17 years old, he left Reddiford School and Pinner County Grammar School right before his A-Level exams. He received his education there.
Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis were all he ever heard as a child. He claims, “I never wanted to be anything else.” Elton John spent five years studying classical music at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
He received a junior scholarship at the Academy at the age of 11, but he was not a conscientious student despite enjoying playing Bach and Chopin.
Before the final examinations, he dropped out of the Academy and moved home with his mother and stepfather. It was there that he created the tunes that would begin his musical career.
