Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE is an English singer and pianist. Since the 1970s, John has had a commercially successful career as a solo performer. Known by the nickname “Rocket Man” because of his popular song of the same name from 1972.

John has been working with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967 and is well-liked by musicians and reviewers. One of the most fruitful songwriting collaborations in history involved him and Taupin.

He released his debut album, Empty Sky, in 1969, and the Elton John Band was established in 1970. The 1970s saw the height of his popularity with critics as he put out a number of albums that topped the charts.

Reginald Kenneth Dwight, the future Elton John, was born in Pinner, Middlesex, on March 25, 1947. When he was 17 years old, he left Reddiford School and Pinner County Grammar School right before his A-Level exams. He received his education there.
