Jon Moxley won against Bryan Danielson in the main event of the AEW Grand Slam on Wednesday, making him a three-time World Champion.
He has previously won the United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, Intercontinental Championship, and WWE Championship while competing as Dean Ambrose in the WWE.
The current WWE World Champion, Heavyweight Champion, Tag Team Champion, United States Champion, and Intercontinental Champion is Danielson (better known by his ring as Daniel Bryan).
Following an alleged backstage altercation between World Champion CM Punk and World Trios Champions the Elite, Tony Khan, President of AEW, declared on AEW: Dynamite earlier this month that the World Championship and the World Trios Championship had been forfeited (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks).
Death Triangle defeated Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends a little while later to win the title of World Trios Champion.
The four-way World Women’s Championship match at Grand Slam also saw Saraya (formerly known as Paige in the WWE) make her AEW debut by facing off against Dr. Britt Baker DMD. (To win the title, Toni Storm beat Baker, Athena, and Serena Deeb.) Saraya was formerly the NXT Women’s Champion and the WWE Divas Champion.
Meanwhile, The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens and Max Caster (joined by Billy Gunn) defeated Swerve in Our Glory’s Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee to win the new World Tag Team Championships. Chris Jericho also defeated Claudio Castagnoli to win the Ring of Honor Heavyweight Championship.
‘The Bastard’ Pac, meantime, kept the All-Atlantic Championship after pinning Orange Cassidy with a hammer from the ring bell.
